Sylvia Wilkins (Lead Instructor)

Sylvia Wilkins is from Houston, Texas and attended Arvada West High School in Arvada, CO. She played tournament softball for eight years. She was the 2004 Gatorade Player of the Year for Arvada West, the 2004 Jeffco League MVP, 1st team All-Conference, 2004 All State, and part of the 2004 All Colorado softball team. She played at Wichita State University in Kansas and moved back home to coach in Houston. She has been doing lessons for 4 years, and specializes in left handed hitting, power hitting from the left and right sides, and the short game. In 2009 she was a hitting instructor at Dan’s Place in Katy, TX. In 2010 she coached the Varsity Softball team at Lutheran High North and has been assistant coaching for various travel teams for the past two summers. 2010-2011 was filled with 12U tournament softball coaching with Houston Havoc, and in 2012 she was the head coach of the 9U Jaguars of out West U.

Currently, she does private and team hitting lessons at Advantage Baseball, and assists weekly with the 14U Houston Havoc out of Spring Branch.  She particularly enjoys working with new catchers and outfielders, and girls that have a love for the game.

Sylvia is married with three young children, and is finishing her degree with University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) online.  Ultimately she would love to coach and keep growing Hitting Lessons TX.
